One was edited the other not. Basics to get you thinking and started writing through closer examinations of issues in separate elements such as character and plot, and so many other questions, are clearly outlined in the table of contents to help navigate this thick volume.
I think this must have originally been intended for college writing courses, but its filled with exercises and you can use it without a teacher.
